Social Learning Groups
These groups focus on developing peer relationships, enriching play skills, reading social cues, exploring shared experiences, building confidence, managing anxiety, and communication skills.
The schedule of each group includes a wide variety of activities including sensory projects, collaborative games, music and movement. All activities will be adapted to meet individual needs using a variety of therapeutic modalities including, DIRFloortime®, Social Thinking™ curriculum, creative arts therapies, sensory strategies, and visual supports.
Children are enrolled in a level of group that matches both their chronological age and developmental level. During registration please select the group that you feel is the best fit for your child. Our Group Coordinator may reach out to get additional details in order to best match your child with a peer group.
Rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, the Zones of Regulation is a framework that uses four colors- blue, green, yellow, and red- to help children identify their feelings and level of alertness. The curriculum provides strategies to support emotional regulation. During this group, children will learn how to read their body's signals, detect triggers, read social context, consider how their behavior impacts those around them, improve emotional control, sensory regulation, self-awareness, and problem-solving skills.
This group is facilitated by one of our licensed occupational therapists.
